I love events where I'm able to display and talk about my work. Yesterday, my wonderful assistant/daughter and I decided, practically last minute, to attend an event near our home and introduce a local author to the folks in her community.
Crawford Market Days in Crawford, Alabama began earlier in the summer on the third Saturday of each month and will run through October. Showcased for sale were arts and crafts from candles, hand sewn items, wooden lawn furniture, cutting boards, and iron works, to fresh produce, local honey, sausages in a variety of flavors, home baked goods, jams, jellies, plants, and this month . . . books!
I've participated in larger events, traveled farther, and had a wonderful time visiting with readers in other cities and states. This was a quick, simple setup for sure, but I enjoyed lots of reading and writing conversations with the folks in attendance from my community.
So, does the size of an event really matter? Nope. We're already making plans to be here on October 21. Hope to see you at Market Days in Crawford!
